The Winter Deaflympics 2027 are far more than just a major international sporting event, they are a powerful symbol of inclusion, equality, and the unifying power of sports. Tyrol offers the ideal conditions for this: excellent infrastructure, extensive experience in organizing sporting events, and, above all, people who are passionate about sports. The Deaflympics clearly demonstrate the importance of para sports in Tyrol: This event is one of the largest funding items in the state of Tyrol’s sports budget. Overall, we are allocating more funds for para sports this year than last and we want to further strengthen this clear priority at the national level as well. As the State of Tyrol, it is very important to us to give equal visibility to the achievements of all athletes and to provide them with the stage they deserve. The Deaflympics make a very important contribution to this and provide lasting momentum for breaking down both athletic and societal barriers.
