The Winter Deaflympics are the largest international winter sports event for deaf athletes, held every four years under the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD).

The 21st Winter Deaflympics will take place from January 15 – 24, 2027 in Tirol – Innsbruck & Seefeld 

Have the Winter Deaflympics ever been held in Austria?

Yes. The 21st Winter Deaflympics 2027 will return to its birthplace. In 1949 the first Winter Deaflympics took place in Seefeld, Tirol. 

Who organizes the 21st Winter Deaflympics 2027?

The Austrian Deaf Sports Federation (ÖGSV) and International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) are organizing the 21st Winter Deaflympics 2027. 

Who can participate at the Winter Deaflympics? 

Only athletes who are registered members of their national deaf sports federation affiliated with the ICSD can participate at the 21st Winter Deaflympics 2027.
